This programme contains both theory and applications and prepares you for advanced engineering work in industry or for graduate studies.
Wave propagation and signal processing are important fields in the technical society of today. There are many technical and industrial applications that require knowledge of both these subjects, notably wireless communication and antenna and microwave technology.
During the first year you will study the mathematical and statistical methods that are the foundations of advanced level telecommunications theory. You will also meet applications in the form of radio systems and microwave and antenna technology.
In the second year you can specialize theoretically or study adjacent subjects such as physics or computer science. Some courses are given every other year and can thus be studied during year 1 or 2. The thesis work is a process where you transform your knowledge into scientific writing. In this you will benefit from the elements of research methodology that are contained in the programme.
The programme features courses of 7.5 HEC each, which consist of lectures, seminars, practicals and mandatory assignments.
Advanced engineering work in industry awaits most graduates. Two plausible fields are telecommunications, that holds both the themes of the programme, and sensor technology, that combines data collection and signal processing. If you prefer graduate studies, the theoretical courses are a good preparation.
