Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management is the process of managing a product from creation to transportation. It involves processing orders, storing, moving and delivering goods, but also predicting the future needs of your customers.
On this detail-driven MSc Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management course, our in-house academic experts teach you the vital theory, modes and systems to succeed in this area. You’ll graduate with the ability to plan, predict and perform in an ever-important field. Also available with an optional placement.
You’ll learn vital topics of Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management, such as planning, modelling and analytics, operations management and digital transformation alongside the imperative topics of sustainable procurement, warehouse and global transportation management. You will finish your master's with a detailed report with the support of a dedicated expert supervisor.
We are updating all of our modules on this course to ensure we provide you with the tools you need to make a real impact after you graduate. We are currently working with CILT and CIPS to make sure these modules meet industry standards and retain his course's accreditations.
A minimum of a second-class UK degree, or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification, in a range of academic subjects will be accepted. Quantitative experience desirable.

You take all compulsory modules and in your final term, you will choose one of our capstone modules, either 'The Logistics and Supply Chain Challenge' or the 'Professional Placement/Internship'.
The 'Professional Placement/Internship' module will give you the chance to work in a business as part of your degree, getting real world experience alongside your learning. Whereas the 'The Logistics and Supply Chain Challenge' is the perfect module for you to prepare for a career as a consultant. You'll pitch solutions to real organisational problems and create a consultancy report, demonstrating your skills and knowledge.

In this module we explore the significant impact that digital transformation is having upon the way organisations make their products and provide their services. You will explore the role of AI, Blockchain, IOT and Industry 4.0 and the impact that these technologies are having upon a variety of service and production environments. You will have a good understanding of the role that technology is having upon operations and will be able to confidently explore how to optimise operations using a variety of digital tools.
In recent years, Procurement has undergone a significant transformation, evolving from a basic cost-cutting function to emerging as the foremost driver for value creation, risk mitigation, and sustainability, thereby promoting resilience and responsible practices within organisations. Students will delve into Procurement strategy, tactics, and operations, exploring the complexities of make-or-buy decisions, methods for building sourcing competencies and capabilities, strategic supplier selection, effective negotiation strategies, the management of supplier relationships and the ways technology enables access to data on cost structures, supply availability, lead times, financial and operational risks, and service and quality metrics. Students will be equipped with strategies for navigating current challenges in procurement and outsourcing, including current protectionism, de-globalization trends, as well as addressing pressures for time compression, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.
Simulation allows you to experiment with digital models of real-world processes to make evidence-based decisions. You will use industry standard simulation software to develop complex models for a variety of contexts such as healthcare and manufacturing. By the end of the module you will gain an understanding of the simulation modelling process so you can go on to develop simulation models and support real world interventions aiming for efficiency and effectiveness.
Large volumes of data are usually produced by supply chains. By identifying trends and producing insights, supply chain analytics aids in making sense of all this data.
Supply chain modelling and analytics skills are in high demand and are a must-have for a successful supply chain management career. You will learn to formulate key activities of the supply chain while emphasizing both the need for formulation and implementation. These include Networks and Routing Transportation models, Resource Allocation and Production Scheduling models, Inventory management models, and Project Management.
You will learn how to use analytics techniques, such as Forecasting, Regression, Descriptive analytics, Probability and Decision Analysis and Optimisation, which can be applied to improve supply chains’ efficiency and effectiveness by enabling data-driven decisions.
As critical components of supply chains, warehousing & global transportation management decisions have massive impact on global business & trade.
Throughout the course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, including layout optimisation and the analytics behind inventory management. Students will explore the transportation systems that enable global trade gaining insight into the documentation, techniques, and systems that enable global movement of goods.
Emphasising real-world applications, this module equips students with the skills to analyse logistical challenges, implement efficient solutions, and foster a competitive edge for organizations with a focus on sustainability. Upon completion, students will emerge with a nuanced understanding of warehouse management principles and transportation logistics, prepared to tackle the demands of the supply chain world.
This module will cover contemporary and relevant issues such as ESG initiatives, supply chain finance, socio-political environment and changing technological landscape that are shaping global supply chain developments. Students will be trained in developing their communication, negotiation and writing skills which would shape them into well-rounded supply chain professionals.
The Logistics and Supply Chain Challenge module connects students to organisational case studies and challenges them via a student consultancy experience. Students will be working in small teams on a company problem presented to them their task will be to pitch a solution to the organization. Students will practice consulting, team-work, communication and self-reflection skills as part of this module.
Thinking about a career in a private sector? Or maybe you’re contemplating a career in the public or voluntary sector? Then this could be the module for you. This module builds on your previous subject specific learning and enhances your understanding of how organisations operate in practice. You have the opportunity to gain experience whilst still on the postgraduate course and apply learning gained on the course. You will be able to reflect on the placement experience and how this relates to your academic knowledge. You will further enhance your critical thinking, communication, professional behaviours and resilience.
