The Master of Science in Business Analytics is offered both as a full-time or part-time program.

In a data-rich world where businesses and public organizations are managing data as a strategic asset to improve decision-making, the MS in Business Analytics offers the full spectrum of skills and knowledge needed to create business value from big data and other sources of quantitative information.

The program covers a unique mix of data analytics, computer science and business topics, including programming, statistics with machine learning, big data and cloud computing, and data engineering. Training is completed with user case seminars, specialist courses on text mining, deep learning or agile project management, and a capstone consulting project with an industry partner.

Candidates will learn to:

• Use statistical analysis to find patterns and evaluate past and future business interventions
• Write code, apply predictive analysis and models of causal analysis
• Collect and parse data, and translate it into actionable insights
• Get familiar with key tools, frameworks and platforms, and learn to implement processes in production
• Manage a data-driven business and create knowledge from big data and other sources of quantitative information
• Collaborate with software development specialists, quantitative analysts, and present your analysis in a clear and effective manner

Programme details:

Since this is a 1-year master’s program, ideally candidates have a 4-year bachelor’s degree.

This allows them to get a PhD degree later anywhere in Europe. Applicants should be aware that they may not be able to pursue a PhD degree in the European Higher Education Area if they have accumulated fewer than 300 ECTS credits in their prior university studies.

Applicants wishing to get a PhD in Europe should therefore choose their master’s program accordingly: 2-year master’s if they completed a 3-year bachelor’s degree, and 1-year master’s if they completed a 4-year bachelor’s degree.

If an applicant has a 3-year bachelor's degree and is not interested in a PhD degree later, then, in exceptional cases, the applicant may be allowed admission into this 1-year master’s program.

To qualify for the exception, students have to demonstrate substantial experience in quantitative analysis or computer programming. This may be achieved through academic credentials (degree programs, non-degree certificates and online courses), but also through relevant work experience and individual projects.
