The Executive Master in EU Studies is a master programme offered by the Centre international de formation européenne (CIFE).
CIFE is a private institution of higher education and research, founded in 1954 with its head office in Nice and branch offices in Berlin, Brussels and Istanbul. It receives special funding in the framework of the Jean Monnet Program of the European Union.
The Executive Master in EU Studies offers a different brand of higher education than national universities. Participants come from a great variety of countries and backgrounds. Over two years, they share a unique academic experience, by working in constant exchange with our renowned experts.
Every three months, they gather for a face-to-face workshop, each time in a different city, by discovering the diversity of current Europe and creating an international network among themselves. At the end of the two-year curriculum, they have not only acquired expert knowledge about the EU, but they have also gained a close insight into the realities of today's Europe.
The Executive Master follows an original educational concept, by blending high-level academic teaching with insights into the professional world and practical trainings delivered by experienced practitioners. It combines the methodological rigour of an academic graduate programme with the interactive learning tools necessary to acquire skills in negotiating, drafting policy papers and defending positions. Participants not only carry out their individual research, but also learn how to manage an international project.
CIFE was a pioneer in digital higher education when setting up one of the first qualifying degree programmes in European integration studies in 2007. The learning tools of the programme have been constantly updated and enriched with webcasts, webinars, and fora discussions.
Graduates from all disciplines are welcome in the programme, which gives ample leeway to different approaches. The Executive Master in EU Studies is targeted at participants who are looking for in-depth knowledge of the European Union, the most exciting endeavor in international political cooperation. We have trained professionals currently working for ministries, national, European or international organisations and NGOs who are seeking to change jobs, to climb the career ladder or to refresh what they have studied before starting their professional life, but also individuals simply curious to learn more about the EU.
We offer a Master programme adapted to the needs of professionals. The flexibility of our online classes and face-to-face weekend workshops allow our participants to combine work and study at the same time. If you cannot commit to the whole Executive Master programme at a given time, we offer even more flexibility by extending you the possibility to complete the first year, receive a certificate including the ECTS credits gained until that point and continue the programme at a later stage.
The tuition fees is 4900 euro per year, which covers academic guidance, a virtual campus, technical support as well as board and lodging during the weekend workshops. A limited number of scholarships reducing the tuition fee are available.
Graduates receive two certifications:
- The Executive Master in EU Studies. This is the diploma of CIFE as a private institute of higher education, certifying the successful completion of the academic curriculum and granting 60 ECTS at Master level.
- The degree qualification "Policy Officer in European and International organisations" (level 7 EQF), recognised by the French state.
