Develop a holistic view of sustainability and become a driving force behind sustainable transformation processes.
As humans, we are still heavily dependent on natural resources for our activities, work and survival. However, their massive use leads to exhaustion and has irreversible negative consequences for our climate and the well-being of our planet. To avoid disastrous consequences for our society, we must focus on a more sustainable future by drastically reducing our need for natural resources and moving towards a circular economy.
This master’s program is designed to let you become a driving force in the transformation towards a sustainable world and will equip you with the knowledge and competencies needed to foster sustainable innovation.
During the program you will learn to become an Applied Sustainability Manager: a highly qualified professional who can contribute added value to a company or institution beyond the boundaries of his own field applied knowledge and has specialised and interdisciplinary knowledge of different industries including energy, water and logistics, agrobusiness, food, fashion, health care, urban development and mobility.
As a graduate you will master the design and implementation of sustainable and innovative sustainable solutions. You will understand and know how to integrate these solutions with sound business strategies and models. You can also manage complex transformation processes in companies and NGOs in an independent and autonomous way. Your competencies are backed up with competencies in qualitative and quantitative applied research and data analysis.
In addition, you will have the social competencies that come from social awareness and ethical criteria to work in an interdisciplinary and intercultural environment.
As more and more organizations worldwide (governments, NGOs, companies) focus on a transition to a sustainable future, there is a greater need for researchers, innovators and experts who can shape and drive the transition to a circular economy. In the Dutch labor market alone, the demand for sustainability professionals has doubled in recent years and is expected to increase significantly in the coming years.
Upon completion of this Master program, you’ll have the skills and competencies needed to pursue a career as a:
