The aim of Hungarian Studies MA program is twofold, first, it offers a comprehensive overview of various fields of Hungarian culture including Hungarian history, Film, Visual arts, Folklore and Music, Cultural geography, Literature, second, it also prepares students to represent Hungarian culture in various intercultural contexts.
The program has two specializations:
Research areas: Hungarian History, Hungarian Literature, Hungarian Film history, Public memory of Hungary, Teaching Hungarian as a foreign language, Hungarian linguistics, Contrastive analysis of the folklore and music of Hungary and a chosen culture.
Anyone who holds a Bachelor degree in the following fields of studies: Hungarian language and literature, History, Ethnography, English or American Studies, German studies, Latin studies, Neo-Latin languages, Slavic languages, Oriental languages, Bachelor of Liberal Arts in General Studies, Aesthetics, Art History, Communication and Media Studies, Film theory, Film history, International studies, Political Science, Cultural anthropology,
Application requirements:
Applicants who do not hold a BA degree in Hungarian language and literature or History but their degree is from the above listed fields, should have extra 12 credit points in Hungarian history/Hungarian literature and linguistics.
